Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

PENTA is seeking a registered Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Tucson, AZ office with 10 to 15 years of experience for a leadership role. Will lead and mentor junior team members. Reporting to the Chief Mechanical Engineer and General Manager Tucson Office.

Core competencies required are development of design criteria, mass and energy balances, mechanical flow diagrams, P & IDs and equipment specifications. The successful candidate will be experienced in equipment layout, piping design, Background in minerals, cement, lime, and similar industry projects required. Processing, wet, and dry grinding systems, and knowledge of slurry handling systems a plus. Experience in mining or minerals processing preferred.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Primary Responsibilities:

Sizing and preparation of specifications for mechanical equipment and systems.
Design for materials handling, conveyor systems, crushing and screening system, dust collection, control systems, chute, duct, piping systems and equipment layouts in a heavy industrial environment.
Participates in the preparation of capital cost estimates: calculate capacities, weights, and develop quantity take-off.
Develops conceptual through final designs and prepares calculations to verify workability of mechanical details; uses CAD and 3D modeling (Revit or similar) software to produce accurate, construction drawings.
Prepares project flow sheet and conducts feasibility studies and creates reports.
Coordinates with vendors
Coordinates with multidisciplinary team members.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Education and Licenses Required

BS in Mechanical Engineering; M.S. preferred.
P.E. registration preferred.
